Love the look of ivory but want to keep the elephants out of it? Look no further than tagua nut! This hummingbird ornament is hand-carved from tagua nuts of the tagua trees in South America, often referred to as “vegetable ivory” for the tagua nut’s close grain and toughness. 

These ornaments are carved by small farmers/campesinos of the Camari organization, who helps these artisans stay in their home communities through helping provide stable, fair income and a way to preserve indigenous culture through traditional crafts.
