El Día de los Muertos is a holiday celebrated primarily by people of Mexican heritage. The celebration occurs on the 1st and 2nd of November, in correlation with the Catholic All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day. Traditions include but is not limited to building private altars honoring the deceased using sugar skulls, marigolds, figurines, photos and the favorite foods and beverages of the departed. Many believe that during this holiday, it is easier for the souls of the departed to visit the living.
Our Day of the Dead Sugar Skull Earrings are handpainted on resin by Fair Trade artisans in Peru. Each pair is unique.
