The Global Gifts-Sponsored Trip to Kenya
We're counting down the days before our departure on September 9th. This journey of a lifetime will include work at the Imani Workshops, and visits to the Global Interfaith Partnership (GIP) UMOJA Project, as well as adventurous side trips to take in the natural beauty of Kenya's magnificent landscape and wildlife.
We have been preparing for the visit with briefings about cultural, historical, and practical aspects of such a trip. In our most recent meeting, we heard from Julie Edwards of Global Gifts about Imani Workshops, a program that supports HIV+ artisans with medical care and a sustainable income through employment.
We were also pleased to host a discussion with Ellen Daniels-Howell, Angela Ockerman, and Nancy Flamme about their recent experiences helping in a community building project in association with Global Interfaith Partnerships (GIP).
Wish us well on our journey and stay tuned right here for stories and pictures from this wonderful place on planet Earth!
